RORY´s MEMORIAL SERVICE

A memorial service to honour the life of Rory Gallagher will take place at the Brompton Oratory, Brompton Road, London SW7, at 11.00 a.m. on November 8 next. All of Rory´s fans wishing to attend the service are invited to come along and pay their last respect. It is expected that many of Rory´s contemporaries will attend the service.

As we know, Rory tragically died on June 14 this year following complications which had developed after a liver transplant eight weeks previously. His death stunned the world of music and tributes flooded in. Among those offering commiserations were Bob Dylan, Rod Stewart, U2, Slash, Van Morrison, Jeff Beck, Martin Carthy and Gary Moore. The into Rory Net A group of fans have also got together to put out a page of info on the worldwide internet. The internet Rory page will give up-to-date information, biography details, a full dicography, interviews etc. The Rory Page is a completely voluntary, non-profit, collaborative venture run by a group of Rory´s fans. The Rory Page code is: http://www.hut.fi/ khagelbe/rory.html	Avenue Rory In the Parisienne suburb of Ris Orangis, Avenue des l`Aunette has been renamed Avenue Rory Gallagher and the Mayor has proclaimed November 3 to be Rory Gallagher Day. There will be an official innauguration of the new street name by the Town Council at 6.00 p.m. that day and it will be followed bay a concert at Le Plan Club featuring NINE BELOW ZERO and guests. Videos and documentaries about Rory´s career will also be featured. The Irish Embassy in Paris will also be involved.	Further news from Rory´s office is that IRS in America are to release a compilation album in October. The album ist called Bad Day For The Blues and will feature 73 minutes of blues tracks pulled from the Rory catalogue. The album is released only in the States.
		A Message from Donal Gallagher Meanwhile, it should be emphasised that the fan club WILL continue. Rory´s brother and Manager, Donal, is busy working on plans for the future and relocating to new offices. In the meantime, though, correspondence should still be addressed to NOMIS STUDIOS. Donal send this message to the fans: "I´d like to thank them all for all the messages of support. They are really appreciated. I´m sorry I haven´t been in touch earlier, but I´m sure they realise that there was a lot going on. The future will be spent protecting Rory´s music and making it stronger. Rory´s death does not mean the end of the Fan-Club. If anything, it makes it stronger and ensures its future because we have now seen that Rory´s music is timeless and will be with us forever."
